Beyond its obvious physical health benefits, good oral hygiene and beautiful smiles foster confidence, social interaction, and self-esteem for a lifetime.
The Audacious Foundation supports Future Smiles, a program that provides critical oral health services to low-income youth, ensuring that they get equitable access to dental health services. Future Smiles provides low-income children with severe orthodontic need with a pathway to braces. Children and families are case-managed to enroll in MediCal, are paired with a high-quality dentist, and get braces from a local orthodontist to transform their smiles. Beautiful smiles with straight teeth support healthy gums and prevent cavities, influence perceptions of social and intellectual ability, improve academic performance and increase academic and career trajectory.
REACH is an experiential program for motivated high school students facing financial barriers to secondary education. By combining traditional with nature-based learning, we cultivate each student’s innate abilities so they can confidently traverse from high school to college. REACH believes that education paves the path out of intergenerational poverty.
